What is Giving Network?
Giving Network (GNet) works to identify and promote
opportunities for philanthropy, with accessible
tools and information. With over 75% of charitable
giving coming from individuals, understanding how
to give and where you can find information and services
can make a difference in fulfilling one’s
philanthropic goals.
GNet works to increase philanthropic giving. We
are a neutral place for individual donors to learn
about engaged giving. GNet promotes high engagement
philanthropy by offering information, education
and opportunities for all donors. GNet functions
as a resource and bridge to build better dialogue
and understanding of current trends in philanthropy
across all constituencies including individual donors,
trustees, nonprofits and philanthropic professionals.
GNet works across the philanthropic landscape to
partner and present effective learning opportunities
for new donors engaging in philanthropy. GNet partnerships
result in a rich and growing network of individuals
and organizations increasingly committed to growing
our philanthropic giving.
GNet, an initiative of Associated
Grant Makers, was originally funded by New
Ventures in Philanthropy, a project of the Forum
of Regional Associations of Grantmakers. The
former name of the project was Giving New England
which included state initiatives also in Maine,
New
Hampshire and Rhode Island.
